As part of our investment strategy, we have recently invested in a new eight-colour flexographic printing press featuring MPS’s new GEW ArcLED system.
We are the first company in Europe to acquire and utilise the new LED technology offered by the MPS EF-340, and this will be our second eight-colour MPS machine.
This significant move forward has seen us featured in the global Print Week.
The MPS EF-340 press represents a major update in flexographic printing technology, and positions us at the forefront of professional UK printing. As well as expanding our capacity, the machine has increased our efficiency.
The press features the unique GEW ArcLED system that allows for the traditional lamps (used for curing the ink) to be switched out for more efficient LED lights, which use 50% less energy than the conventional bulbs.
Furthermore, our new press is equipped with special servo positioning motors that allow for greater printing accuracy. No matter what speed the machine is set to, the servos will maintain the alignment of the press over the printing medium. The servo motors also enable us to reduce time when prints are fed back through to add additional inks – and therefore also reduce costs.
We have also been busy investing in staff; and have expanded our team with 10 new members to help fill our expanding business. In addition to the new MPS press, in 2017 we have also invested in a second Xeikon CX3 digital label press, a second AB Graphic Digicon finishing line, and an SRI Re-reeler with video inspection system. A rotary screen unit for an existing Arsoma flexo press will be commissioned before the year is out.
